A infelicidade humana em prosa: Giacomo Leopardi e a Natureza

Authors

Abstract

Giacomo Leopardi is an Italian writer, recognized worldwide as one of the greatest poets in Italy, but here the prose Leopardi stands out. This facet of his is quite intense, his prose works are dense and full of paths that lead to reflection on various subjects, most often linked to human beings and their impasses with the world, with other men and with their own feelings. From the operette Dialogo della Natura e di um Icelandese (Dialogue of Nature and an Icelander) and Dialogo della Natura e di un'Anima (Dialogue of Nature and a soul) which highlights man's feeling of unhappiness with Nature, it will be possible to reflect on human unhappiness from dialogues in which Nature is the protagonist. As support, French moralists will inform some of the main discussions. The conclusion is reached that Nature, in these dialogues, is the enemy of man and that she never needed any of them to exist, unlike men who need Nature.

Keywords: Unhappiness. Human being. Nature. Giacomo Leopardi.
